Get bitten by the free-motion bug and while learning Cheryl’s methods outlined in her award winning book, "Quilting Dot to Dot". Class will include her unique way of using continuous line quilting designs. Grow confident with this fun, step by step free-motion technique that she has successfully taught to sewing machine and frame quilters alike.
OPTION #4 The Quilt-As-You-Go- Advantage -(2 Hour or 6 hour) * Lecture/Trunk Show/Technique Demo (2 Hour) ** Turn into full 6 hour event with hands on project.
QAYGo techniques make machine quilting easier for quilters/sewers of all skill levels. Just free-motion one square or strip at a time-pick only the ones you like and then join them together using your favorite QAYGo technique making projects you will love! Experienced quilters can use these same techniques to quilt more complex designs on small more manageable pieces of fabric. Cheryl will present a wonderful truck show of quilts finished using 4 different QAYGo techniques and show you how they can help when quilting a pieced top, stitching machine trapunto or making exciting home décor projects.
OPTION #5 Quilting on your Frame – The basics and beyond - (2 Hour) * Lecture/Technique Demo **I can teach groups that own different frames/machine models ***Need one frame fully set-up
Watch as Cheryl demos helpful techniques for successful home frame quilting. She will share tips for preparing your quilt layers and then proper loading, selecting designs, using stencils, pantographs, printed patterns and more! Special techniques include – turning your quilt to complete borders, stitching large designs in a small area, building free-motion confidence and attaching your binding as you go! You will leave this lecture feeling empowered, excited and ready to get quilting!
